Quite the contrary. The manual that comes with this telescope is very vague. It definitely is not made for a beginner. I have had to try to pull up videos and diagrams from other sites to get an idea of how to put this thing together because the diagram and instructions are so poorly written. It seems to be well built, but it definitely is for an experienced star gazer. I think it's made very strongly and is handling being taken out and put away a lot so, all the joints/hinges are not cheaply made. The multiple lenses are all equally good. I literally gasped when I looked up at the moon. To fully get your $$$ out of it, I strongly suggest reading the buyers manual and also peeking on line for extra instructional info on telescopes in general. It can do more than I understand. It was worth every "fun cent to spend" and by the way it's made, we'll have it for a long time.
