I bought this loupe for myself and all of my people. I have to say, it's wonderful despite it's size. I can look through this thing for hours when it comes scrap time and I don't have a headache after wards. I've had it around my neck for about six months and it doesn't even think about falling open. Which brings me to my next point that will be important to anyone looking to buy one for similar reasons as myself.
It has a ring at the top that is just the perfect size to slip one of those ball style chains through (like on a ceiling fan or toilet tank) which you can buy for practically nothing at a hardware store. It's lined with metal, which is nice, so no worries of it wearing down like a cheap bale. Also on here, since I can't mention other product names in this review, you can spend about five bucks and get a hole sizer for round stones (very accurate, don't care what any bean counter says), knock the rivet out... It is sturdy and the loupe STAYS put inside the flip portion of the cover when not in use. There IS a slight difference when comparing to the cheap $10 loupes. ALL of those cheap metal loupes that say 20-30x are only 10x. Why? I have no clue. Maybe thier using a bloated scale like the TV companies do when they say "Weve got a Much higher CONTRAST ratio than the other guys!" In any case this is the loupe to get but I just wish the company would bring the price down to about $40 which I think is fair.
