I purchased this filter for a rather expensive 21mm lens. Not wanting to fork over $[...] for a descent 82mm polarizer I started combing through reviews to find an alternative.

I've used this lens for couple of months now, and have had great success in capturing high contrast/bright days. For bright day scenic shots, I usually only opt for a polarizer to cut down on the high contrast of mid-day sun or naked if a polarizer isn't warrantied.
This filter is not as weighty as some of the other more expensive filter brands, but it does the job and can be cleaned rather easily. By comparison with other expensive filter brands, this filter is easier to maintain, less expensive, lighter, & less opaque.

One of its kind. I am very impressed due to the fact that it is a slim mount, but has 2 threads, one for screwing in a 82mm-thread lens, one on the other side for another stack. I don't know stacking another filter to this CP is a good idea, but it certainly helps to hold the lens cap. Without this thread, you may need a different lens cap, which is a bummer to me!

These filters tend to be very expensive and I needed to save some money.
A search on Amazon turned up this filter. It's thin; it has multi-coating; and it was the right size. And I saved about $100 over the premium brand filter alternatives.
The great thing about this filter in addition to the features mentioned above is that it also lets me continue to use my clip-on lens caps - something the other thin polarizer filters don't always support.
The filter is neutral (adds no color) and works perfect. The case is rugged and works well to protect the filter when it isn't on the lens.
